<e28> 87 528e problems with oxygen sensor

I recently replaced my oxygen sensor in my 87 528e with a bosch 
replacement single wire sensor.  After I had finished the replacement 
the car will hesitate intermittently.  I performed the diagnostic checks 
on the sensor as described in the bentley manual and the sensor seemed 
to be working properly.  I cleaned the connections between the sensor 
and where it plugs into the car.  That seemed to cause the hesitation to 
decrease but it still hesitates every once in a while.  Does anyone have 
any comments on how to fix this problem?  Thanks for the help in 
advance.
