<WOB> insurance rates

> The M series will be an insurance nightmare, IMO.<
<<<In what respect? My 1998 M3/4 was only ~$20 more per year to insure than
my 1996 328is. I even made it *lower* than the 328is by raising the
deductable to $500 (had a $250 deduct. on the 328is). Of course, there's
things like married/single, driving record, where you live, and what
insurance company, that will impact this, so a BIG YMMV :-) Just throwing
out a data point, no flame intended.

Jim,
You're either getting an awesome rate on your M3/4 or you were getting a
lousy deal on the 328is. Last year, when I contemplated trading in my '96
328is for a '98 M3, I was appalled when I called my insurance and found out
how much I would be paying. My semi-annual premium would go up from $758 to
$1,786!!! (same zip, same coverage $100K/$300K/$50K, $500 deductible)

Perhaps the M3/4 is cheaper to insure than the M3 coupe.
