Squeeky pedals

Hi folks,
I've seen this sometime ago but can't find it in the FAQ or my old
digests. I've recently noticed that my clutch and gas pedals squeek
annoyingly loud when depressed/released. This is on an E36 95 M3. By
the way, my wife's 95 318is is also starting to develop a squeeky
clutch. Is this typical of E36s? And yes, I've tried the Li grease. Any
clues? TIA.
