Howdy Folks -
I got a few direct replies, along with a couple of digest responses
about this - sounds like it's not the best path to take. Especially
considering it was my *last* color choice. Jim C. replied that
regardless of the verbiage, something is/was shaky with the car, whether
this is actual damage or not. The folks at the depot where the car is
currently stored, suggested that the 'new' title was effectively like a
brand new car (so buyer beware).
Obviously there's something to this status, or the carfax type
service(s) wouldn't have a line item designated to report this
condition.
Excellent point about the upkeep (or lack of) on the part of the 'type'
of owner that may have well had the car before - I'm sure it was taken
to "quick-e-lube" regularly while the trunk was stuffed with 20 kilos of
"product" :^)
Looks like for peace of mind, it's definitely worth the extra expense,
not to mention getting the exact car I was looking for.
Thanks -
DT
