<E36 M3> Mobil 1 15W-50 or 10W-30?

At 10,000 miles I switched to Mobil 1 15W-50.  With the track season
over and winter approaching I was considering going to 10W-30.  I
searched the old digests and in V9 #198 Michael Tarver stated that he
"switched from Mobil 1 10W-30 to Mobil 1 15W-50 and found it to
NOTICEABLY slow the car down considerably".

Has anyone else ever found the 15W-50 to slow your car down?  Is it OK
to run 10W-30 all year, including track events?
