RE: Aluminum Corrosion?

Aluminum oxidizes.  At least that is what it looks like, it gets all discolored.
 Is oxidizing the same as corrosion?

Oxidize = 1.  to combine with oxygen.  2.  to dehydrogenate, esp. by the
action of oxygen.

Corrode = 1.  to eat away by degrees as if by gnawing, esp. to wear
away gradually usu. by chemical action.  2.  to weaken or destroy
gradually.

So has anyone actually seen aluminum corrode, or just oxidize?
