Chip for Sale -- ERROR in Application

Does this mean the 325i/iS and iX do *not* share an ECU?? If so, which car
has the better ECU? Can they be swapped? I can't imagine BMW adding a whole
lot of extra wiring to operate a completely mechanical (as I understand it)
4WD system.
