E30 M3 gear ratios and "dogleg"?

I was reading an article about the E30 M3 in BMW Car and it was
talking about gear ratios.  Did all the E30 M3's have the same or did
it change?  Are the ratios pretty close?  And what do the British mean
by "dogleg" (I hope that that is what it said...)?
