Josh the E28 series did not have filters in the vents. But you can add
some - very easy.


Get some furnace filter material (washable type) and cut out 2 filters,
shaped to fit in the air intake under the grills on the hood. Those
grills just pull forward and out.

That will stop most things except fine dust, etc.  You will have to
remove and clean them every few  months.


Try to find some filter material that will not "hold" moisture, but will
drain and dry quickly. (no paper material)
