<E30> need to replace rear shock mounts

hello everyone,

i asked before but didn't get any responses so here goes again.  i need to
replace the upper shock mounts on my '89 iX.  i think i remember reading
that the ones from the convertible are beefier and will last longer.  is
this correct?  also,  do i need any special tools to do this?  i will be
getting the service manual, the bently, and haynes manuals soon so hopefully
they will have this info.  i appreciate all help.

still looking for advice on an exhaust system replacement.  this car will
have a JimC chip and k&n cone filter w/heat shield by the time i replace the
exhaust.  price, weight, longevity, performance (flow, noise) are important
in that order.  thanks.
