Gobbs and Gobbs of WOBs

To the Digest:

I've been out of the office for most of the past 5-6 days and am therefor
reading approximately 30-40 Digests which came roughly every hour on the
hour. These Digests dealt with three issues: 1) BMWs vs. Japanese cars; 2)
Age and other discrimination; and 3) one poster had some car-related
problem which I forget. The general order of things is: 1) someone posts
either a legit query with a seemingly innocuous sidebar, or just the
sidebar (1 post). 2) People line up on either side of the issue depending
on how they feel about the issue, or whichever side they think needs their
support (40 posts). 3) Sensing that the Digest has grown tired of the
theme, people begin posting the "Let's end this already, but I just want to
say..." letters. I call these the "getting the last word in and slamming
the door" posts (65 posts). 4) Trying to regain order to the Digest,
Richard dutifully suggests we move on NOW (1 post). 5) People continue the
"this has got to stop, but here's how I feel" letter (22 posts). 6)
Someone writes in with a legitimate query, a funny comment, or an
interesting subject, and we finally move on (1 post).

I guess this helps explain why I'm getting twice as many Digests per day,
but I must say that some of the threads seem like what I might expect in a
childish chat room rather than on a BMW Digest.

Hey, did I mention that I went on a job interview after a 3 day hiatus from
bathing and the jerk interviewing me seemed like he had made up his mind
before I even told him how great I was??? ("Hey, it's just a SPOOF" he
says trying to shut the door quickly behind him).
