With winter on the way, a thought struck me on this skid car thing. You
guys in colder parts of the country could set up "Skid School" days. All
it would take is an unplowed parking lot and a some cones to set up a
few exercises.

I learned an awful lot about car control wheeling Dad's '71 Fury 9-pass.
station wagon (a tank, for sure, but pretty well balanced) around the
icy streets of Chicago. Those sensations came flooding back when I
started autocrossing (also a good training ground, as Mike Orth pointed
out), and the knowledge gained has come in handy at the track.
