Re:<E30> driveshaft

I would not put a used DS in the car unless you are planning on selling
it soon.
I have had a lot of bad parts from salvage yards, so when it comes to
critical components such as a DS I tend go rebuilt or new. I think that
the risk associated with a used DS is quite high. It is after all a
highly stressed part.

A rebuilt DS can be had from Portland Driveline Service ( tel no. in the
Roundel). They charge about 375.00 for new joints and balancing.

I had mine rebuilt locally, (in Tucson, a mistake) if I had to do it
over again I would use PDS. Do not use a rebuilder that is going to weld
in the u-joint bearings!! Do use a rebuilder that balances the DS after
the new joints are installed.

Don't know of any bad reports on PDS. BMPD will supply the same item
for about 500.00.
