Normal sunroof operation

I have a question regarding opening the sunroof on a 97 318ti.  When I slide the 
sunroof back using the "1-touch" option, it opens about 90% of the way.  If I 
touch the open button again, it slides back the last 10% and is completely open.

Question--is this how it's supposed to work?  Just thought I'd ask before 
mentioning it to the dealer.
