Honda's Are GREAT CARS
I been reading all of this crap on Hondas... If anyone out there watched
Dateline last week they did a special on car safety on a 0-5 scale, I believe
2 Toyota's were the safest in side impacts, the accord got a 4 & was rated as
safe as a Crown Vic, Sedan Deville, etc.. Accords are strong cars.. my 99 V6
weighs in a 3300 lbs, yes it is lighter than my 3800 lb 635, but I would
rather be in the Honda if I had a wreck..
Performance, my 99 200 hp V6 will keep up w/ my sharked 635 from 0-120 with no
problem, over 120 the 635 will pull it, & stopping power, the Honda stops much
better & the wheels don't even turn black.. dependability?
ok these are the cars I've owned..
90 CIVIC EX - 167K - bought 8 tires, 1 timing belt & ALOT of oil changes...
THAT IS IT
93 Accord EXL - 80K - bought 1 set of tires & ALOT of oil changes
97 Accord EX - 34K - a couple of oil changes
99 Accord V6 .7K - a couple tanks of gas
89 325i 120K - tires, oil, muffler, water pump, shocks, belts, etc etc..
88' 635 154K- you name it.. I've replaced it - 7,000 in repairs in the last
10K - water pump, thermostat, shocks, struts, brakes, brakes, brakes,
bushings, bearings, muffler, alternator, tire arms, etc etc etc...
The Honda's are much more reliable, yes the BMW's will take them on the track
but for daily driving (the purpose of cars to begin with) the Honda is a much
better substitute unless you have unlimited resources..
I drive the 635 for fun, I drive the Accord for a comfortable, reliable
vehicle to take to the office & on the road..
