Lotus Elise

In case anyone else is interested, the latest issue of Autoweek has an
article about a man named Tom Cahalane who is going to import the Elise
and the Renault Sport Spyder.  He estimates the Elise's cost at the
mid-$40k mark.  Lotus expects the price to be under $40k if / when they
do it (no sooner than 2000).  Cahalane would presumably keep the Rover
engine and Lotus didn't mention any engines, although Chrysler has an
Elise for "evaluation" purposes...

I like BMW, but would get an Elise in a heartbeat.
