For what it's worth, if I had only $20K to spend, I would buy a
Honda Accord (or maybe a used 325i) over a 318i everytime.  You
can't really use the word power and 318i in the same sentence.

Unfortunately, new BMWs really shine only after you spend about $30K.
Under that, you don't get much car for the money.  Over that amount,
you can get a car that competes with anything else at twice the price.
You have to compare one car against another car, not marque to marque.

The 323i is a start in the right direction, though.  But for $27,000,
you get hubcaps!  Who would have thought, hubcaps on a new BMW!
