I have a 1992 325iA 4dr and just replaced the stock wheels and 205/60
Bridgestone Potenza tires with a set of BMW star spoke rims (15") and
Goodyear 225/55 tires. The Goodyear tires are not all that great and are
going to need replaced in 3-5k. I thought about buying another set, but the
cost seems way out of line for the quality/performance of the tire. The
stock size, 205/60 seems to be abound with choices. Anybody have a top
recommendation there? Alternatively, I've considered putting 225/50's on it.
I've heard this is slightly smaller diameter than 205/60 but I'm wondering
if it'll make a difference if I use a Z rated tire (which has stiffer
sidewalls). Given the small difference I'd think air pressure could throw
off the speedometer just as much. What are people's thoughts on this? Thanks
for your help!
Regards,
John
