I'm puzzled.
I checked the acid level in my 525i's battery about 18-months ago. I fee=
l
certain that the acid in each cell touched the bottom of the "downcommer"=
into which the cap screws. I checked the level again a couple of days ag=
o.
All cells were down about 5mm, but still well above the bent-tab low-lev=
el
indicator. So I refilled each cell with distilled water to the bottom of=
the "downcommer".
The next day a puddle under the car revealed that the battery was lowerin=
g
the level of the acid. Now, after two days, the level in five of the cel=
ls
is back where it started. The sixth cell is still full to the bottom of
the "downcommer".
What's going on? Is the full-level of this battery different from those =
in
my previous experience? Or????
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
