Working for an electric utility, I had a customer call regarding a 
power outage.  In asking for the customer's name, he simply spelled 
his last name.  F-u-c-h-s.   He went on to say, "Yes - it's 
pronounced just the way you think it is."  (rhymes with ducks)
I felt bad for him - that here in this American society he spells his 
name and doesn't say it.
