wierd clicking noise

I am stressed now...I have a "clicking sound that has developed either in
the tranny (auto) or where the driveline meets the tranny. It has come on
suddenly, and becomes VERY pronounced in left turns, but disappears in
right turns.
Any ideas? anyone? please?!
