Radio works, but "CODE" won't go away

The radio on my 528e showed CODE the other day for some unknown reason (
the battery had not been disconnected, fuses okay). I entered the code
sequence and now the radio works, but still displays "CODE".
Has this happened to anyone else?
What can I do, I'm getting tired of guessing the radio stations?
