E36 Brake Pad Wear Light (??)

        I am puzzled.  I have replaced my rear brake pads.  But the darn
light is still on although the brake wear sensor is still good.  However,
when the brake fluid reservoir cap is removed, the light goes off.  I
believe there is also a sensor attached at the brake fluid reservoir cap.
What's wierd and what's not??  Thanks all.
