Dave,

OUCH ! This has gotta be painful.  I agree 100% with what you posted -
especially the 'mods' part.  Little things you do to the car that have
little or no effect on average street driving can really make a difference
at the track.  Even something as minor as a short shift kit means all your
shifting technique changes at the track.

Last time out I was momentarily distracted by a SCCA Race Prepped 911 on my
bumper going into # 3 and the glance in the mirror caused me to miss my
optimum brake point and I went through most of # 3 sideways (high pucker
factor!).

Glad you walked away from it unhurt.  Sheet metal can always be replaced,
broken bodies can't.

BTW, for what its worth....I HATE Turn # 4 at Summit.  That's the only one
that really makes you pay big time for carrying too much speed in the
corner - even if your line is perfect....the others are mostly controlled by
not early apexing....but # 4 is punishing if you have any oversteer at all.
