Ron,
SImple answer. That Firebird was driven by Dean Sapp, former national =
champion and a serious contender in Nationals in F STOCK this year. (Yes, =
it is stock, as least with only the SCCA allowed stock mods.)
Dean could probably beat most anybody in any car. Do not take that result =
as a statement of the general ability of the car, just the driver. (I am =
not commenting on the capabilities of the car -- I'll leave that to =
others. I am just answering Ron's question.) Dean is a great driver and =
a great guy. Wish him luck in Topeka.

Many comments have been posted about the straight line power of Firebirds,

with how bad the handling is, particularly on on auto-x type course. Kind
of surprised me to view our Chapter Newsletter to see the results of the =

autocross held out at the Redskins stadium parking lot. Dont have the
results in front of me, but I think the fastest time of the day was run by =

Firebird.... I didnt actually see the car or it's run, but I can only
assume it must have been pretty heavily modified version.
