Yup. Until that school I thought the Metalmasters would work on the
slower and lighter ti. I felt this way despite the best advice from the
Bubbas on this list going back more than a year. Heck, I was even there
flagging when Pat's car smoked his set! They did last two schools last
year, but those were my first schools and I was on street tires. R1s and
a bit better driving on my part (I hope) have shown that they can't hold
up - they seem to create a _lot_ of heat. My rear wheels were noticeably
hotter than the fronts and my seals did melt. I ran Hawk HPSs up front.

Also... I don't really like the Metalmasters for autocross. Although not
nearly as bad as race pads, they do take a stop or two to reach peak
performance. This sucks if there's a hard braking zone early in the
course. It also sucks if some idiot pulls out in front of you as you
leave your house in the morning. The stock pads and the Deluxes don't do
this. Considering their marginal performance at the track, the warm up
time is not acceptable. I run the Deluxes on the street and don't touch
them for autocross. They smell bad occasionally, but have never actually
faded during a run. If my daily commute was down a winding mountain road
I probably wouldn't want the Deluxes either though.

So... they ain't good for the track, they ain't good for autocross, they
ain't good for the street, and they dust more than the Deluxes. These
are your brakes (egg). These are your brakes on Metalmasters (egg frying
in pan). Any questions?
