I too posted a similar question last week. Look at last week's digest
archives for 8/21 and 8/18 messages on the subject. I've had mixed
response. About 50/50 regarding the 320i radiator vs. a re-cored 2002
radiator. I'd rather not do the modifications required for the 320i
radiator, but I cannot find a local shop that admits to having re-cored a
2002 radiator. I'd hate to have to pay them for a re-core, then have it be
too thick to fit in the space and hit the fan. There's very little room
between the fan and radiator. I'm looking at getting a used 2002 radiator
to use as an experiment for recoring, that way I can keep driving while the
radiator's at the shop being recored. Otherwise, Bimmer Parts has a 320i
conversion kit advertised for as low as $215. I'm still deciding.
