 It wouldn't be that major automakers feel more comfortable making a
deal with an oil-company-superpower than with, say, a small outfit in
Wisconsin, now would it? :)
 Also, in order to buy Amsoil, the automakers would have had to pay
membership fees to buy into their MLM sales force.  hee hee.
 But seriously, outside of the lab, I doubt that anyone could find a
difference in quality between Amsoil, Mobil, or Redline.  Except maybe
at 70 below zero, where some may stop pouring.  But then if it's 70
below zero, I'll be inside, pouring.
