Mike, what you need to do to cure your BMW obsessiveness is to buy an old
2002/Bavaria as a daily driver, that is if you don't live in the snow belt,
if you do, just drive your beater of BMW 6 months a year. Out here in LA,
we have lots of good condition rust free 02's/Bavaria that you can pick up
for less than 2K. Make sure your old bimmer has big some primer spots on
it and nobody will park within 10 feet of your car. As long as you got a
straight body, no/little rust and good mechanicals, you will be cured of
you obsessiveness, but you will find yourself spending it on 02/Bavaria
upgrades. Look under the hood of an old bimmer and you won't need an
electrical engineering degree to figure out where everything goes. Now with
a 25 year old car, you will need a parts car and that will make your
significant other and neighbors very happy to have that in your driveway.
Take my advice, you will be cured if you buy an old bimmer and it sure
beats car payments. I am just obsessed with old BMW's, and I don't have a
problem where I park but my coworkers won't ride in my car. I have been
on travel and am just now catching up to my backlog of digests.
