Why are you guys puttering around at <2000 revs in
an M3? This car is definitely not for gas misers;
it has a direct drive 5th gear. I have sympathy
for dealers who have to hear complaints like this.
Andy '95 M3
In reference to:
Mahshad-- I too have the harmonic vibration prob,
but at slightly
different points (900 and 2000 rpm). Have had it
on my car (98 M3/4) since
purchase. Told by dealer and other digesters it
is "a characteristic of the
motor" and BMW does not propose a fix, so live
with it. Personally its the
only thing about the car I don't like, but it
really bugs me... I put up a
post like yours a few months ago and got back 3
responses from M3 owners
with the 900-1100 rpm vibration, but noone with
1500 or 2000 rpm buzzes.
Let me know if you come up with anything more.

braced, redlined and a bit whiney when babied
(ain't we all?)
