MPG gauge needle dissociated itself...

"Forget about it!"  (with genuine Italian accent).That useless gauge
just makes people, myself included, anal about fuel economy.  After
staring at it for a while it teaches you how to maximize mileage, then
it becomes a distraction albeit an addicting one.
