BMW wannabe questions

This question is about VW Corrados.  If your big thrill in life is to 
flame non BMW messages, then page down and dont bother.

Just bought my son a 1990 Corrado G60, 64k miles. Its in very good 
condition except that the tach is completly dead and the sunroof doesnt 
slide back.  The roof tilts OK, and the motor runs when trying
to slide.

Assuming the tach is a "wire off" problem, where do I look ?

How to open the access to Sr to check for blockage ??

Are these common problems ??  Other resources for answers ??

I only ask these NON-BMW questions, because I have witnessed the
digest being a great source of info, when we arent fighting.
