What is this???

Underneath my spare tire I found a large "disc" which sits between the tire
and the well. It is made of some sort of fiberglass-looking material and is
appx. 10 lbs. What purpose does this serve?

I always look in the owners manual, Haynes, and FAQ's before posting, but I
seem to find the "hard to figure out" ones. :)


BTW, I read on a recent post that Bon Ami is an excellent windshield
cleaner. Is this for real?
