Subject: <E28> Hydaraulic Brakes Problem

Hello all.

I have a problem with the hydraulic brake assist in my 5er. If i apply
the brakes quickly, the pedal feels very hard (with little stopping power)
for about half a second (and the "BRAKE" light comes on). After this with
the same pedal pressure, the pedal sinks a bit and feels normal with
braking power restored (and the "BRAKE" light goes off). According to the
digest, this would indicate a faulty pressure accumulator. However, my
brake servo appears to be leaking power steering fluid between the
servo/master cylinder. The car has done 125k km (80k mi).

My questions are:

- - - Could the problem be due to the servo leaking, or is it just a
coincidence, and the fualt lies in the bomb (or both)?

- - - Is the servo repairable, or will i have to buy a new one?

Thanks in advance for any info. Any tips on replacing/repairing these
item will be greatly appreciated.
