OK .. OK .. <gloves thrown down to ground>
You ASKED for it ..
;)
While I am not a party to this suit .. nor am I sure that
it is a GOOD or a BAD thing .. here goes..
Most of you out there don't know jack on this one ..
and that INCLUDES some of the M3 owners who have
dropped valves ..
So .. here's a bit of EDUCATION for you ...
Consider this "S50US 101"
There are a *significant* number of owners who had their motors
blow up without a HUGE overrev, and some who's motors were not
overreved AT ALL .. like AUTOMATICS that have dropped valves
Why is this happening??
sorry.. can't say, but there IS a reason ...
and for better or worse it will come out in court...
It's a manufacturing problem .. and BMW knows about it
and they are keeping hush hush about it ..
Then we have the transmission problem .. which I think is MORE than
a simple detent thing .. there is some convincing evidence to say that
under hard cornering and power-on the xmission shifts enough to
make what was 4th .. 2nd .. BOOM!
All I can say is that when more and more 328i owners start lunching
motors along with the M3'ers .. now that they have the same 310G
transmission .. then we'll see some FIREWORKS ...
