The L6 is BMW's answer to the MB SL's...luxury, comfort and decent
performance. One thing to look out for on this car (and other late 6
series/and E23 7 series) is problems with the rear levelling system.  The
rear levelling shocks and control unit is very expensive...many owners/shops
have converted to conventional rear suspension  (new
shocks/springs/perches/etc & disable the hydraulics) rather than go through
the expense of fixing the levelling system.  SD
