Jim, I've got a 1984 Euro 635CSi set up with stock (Euro) springs
and ride height. I think the wheel
to body relationship is same as the M6.
I recently replaced the TRXs with BBS RX wheels (17x8) and Comp ZR
235/45-17 tires. According to the
guys at Tire Rack, this is the largest setup that will fit without some body
and/or suspension tweaks. These wheels are at 20mm offset and do not cause
any tire contact under any circumstances, including track events.
My guess is you would need to roll the fender lips and maybe use a
different offset to make the 255s
fit without interference, especially if the car's lowered.
Good Luck on this experiment, and please let us know on the Digest
how it all works out.
