<02/1600>questions

Today I installed an Ansa muffler on my 68' 1600... When I was under the car I 
noticed my resonator was in poor shape.  Should I replace it with a factory or 
aftermarket (Ansa)?  I thought the muffler would be much louder then it is.  
Basically I wouldn't mind a bit more volume.  What makes the most difference in 
power and sound- the rear muffler or the resonator?  One more thing, what can I 
do to stop the awful squealing of the brakes?  Any replies are greatly 
appreciated.
