     Well after reading about all the service problems, "VOB", "stealers",
etc., etc., I feel lucky.  I do about 75% of service work myself anyhow, but
I guess I'm getting too many cars to keep up with.  With the exhaust falling
off the Police car and the starter not starting on the Blazer and with two
D'schools coming up, I decided to pay to have the head bolts changed and the
valves adjusted on my '87 325.  As an afterthought, I told him, if he had
time, to see what he could do about changing the two brake hoses underneath
the car.  I had given up on those and had decided to cut the lines at the
brackets and replace the short steel lines along with the new stainless
hoses.  

Anyhow, my wife drove up and took the car in, in the morning.  Took the
subway into town.  Sightseeing in Old Montreal and shopping till 5:30.
 Picked the car up.  Work done as promised (incl. brake lines).  All done by
professionals who work only on BMW's.  Fair prices (3.5 hours charged @
$45/hr.)  Work always done right the first time, no returns.  Bring your own
parts if you like.  Finally, if you are an American you get a nice 30%
discount.  (No, not discrimination, only the exchange rate.)
