<E28> Largest Rims and tires.

     I finally ordered some new rims/tires to replace the Metric Trash/X 
     Michellins.  What are the largest Wheel/Tire combinations that people 
     are using out there?
     
     The shop manager at Dinan used to have an 85' Dinan turbo with the 17" 
     wheels from the current M5.  I have ordered the TSW Hokenheim R's with 
     225 50 16's, and this will require bending the lips on the rear wheel 
     wells.
     
     Does anyone have 17's on their E28?  Did you need hub spacers for the 
     front?
