Arrrgh, got my first paint chip!!

This morning, as I was approaching my Black 96 328i, I noticed an
imperfection on it's shiny hood.  As I got closer, it revealed itself to me
as a really nasty paint chip.  Man, I've been reading all these messages
about the paint jobs on these cars and now I've joined the club.  What do I
do?  The car is so new that it's only been washed twice and not waxed yet!!
Do I apply touch-up paint?  I'm sure it is from driving through the
construction areas on I270 in the Washington DC Metro area.  I wish I could
use a bra, but I used to have a bra on a civic si and it dulled up the
paint.  Any solution to this?
