Bavaria Parts?

Greetings BMW-philes,

I am not yet a BMW list subscriber, but I am pondering the purchase of a
'73 Bavaria. I am familiar with the marque (via my 2002) but I have never
sought parts for an older 6-cyl. Could any owners mail their own
advice/experience finding parts? Should I expect upkeep to be slightly
more, much more, or outrageously more than a similar 2002? Does the
Bavaria share mechanical bits with any other BMW's (Bavaria-specific parts
are rarely listed in the Roundel... which worries me). Sorry to be so 
naive, but I've spent the last 8 years with my head under an aging 2002...
