Winter Driving -- Blizzaks

I'm thinking of getting a set of Blizzaks to make the
car a little less thrilling to drive in winter, Any experiences or other
fixes?

I've run Blizzaks and studded Hakkepallitta 10s on ice and snow in a
back-to-back comparison run. The Blizzaks are very impressive and come
reasonalby close to the studded 10s in straight line performance. However,
they have significantly less lateral grip than the studded tires. I
understand that tread life with the Blizzaks is pretty poor, but if you
can't use studs or don't want to, and tread life is not a big factor, the
Blizzaks are an excellent choice.
