Subject: 1997 M3 w/ F1-style 6-spd gearbox

I picked up a Sunday Times in London last weekend and they had a short article
on the "Sequential M transmission" that will be offered on the 1997 M3.  The
author had tested one at the Jerez GP circuit.  Flicking forward and back
changed gears on the 6-speed gear box (better than Tiptronic).  The
electronics even automatically blipped the throttle to smooth downshifts.  It
was also tested on busy public roads and reportedly worked great.  The option
would be priced at about 2500 UK pounds, and would be available in the UK in
March 1997.
