1) disconnect sway bar links as per bently
2) disconnect the clamps/bolts holding the bar to the car
3) the sway bar does not just slide out (atleast in my case,86 325es)
so you have to remove the bolts holding the control arm to the car at the
control arm
bolts (2). on the left OR the right side, pull the control arm down as
far as possible and pull the bar out. hope this helps.
