failing master cylinder

I have recently noticed that occasionally when I brake the pedal
travels a bit further than usual before stopping. The pedal travel
returns to normal after one pump. I checked the brake fluid level
and its OK but I know that there is a slight amount of leakage.
Sounds like the master cylinder to me but I'd like to hear from all
you "experts" to confirm my great diagnostic ablilties.
Also, I'm thinking about purchasing a "one man brake bleeder" from Imparts.
Does anybody out there have any experience with this particular model?
Any suggestions will be greatly apprieciated.
