Re: Top Ten Items for M3/4

Top ten items on an E36 M3 with 58k miles:

1) Rear Shock Mounts
2) Rear Trailing Arm Bushings
3) Radiator upper hose neck
4) Change all lubricants - engine oil (and filter); diff oil; trans oil
5) Change antifreeze
6) Brake pads
7) Check brake calipers - dust seals can be dry or cracked
8) Missing jack pads ('hockey pucks') under the jacking points
9) Damaged front airdam pieces, including center tray, left & right "pork chops", inner fender liners
10) Up to date on all recalls, including crank position sensor and brake light switch

Have fun!

Newbie questions again.......

I am going to try a local non-stealer BMW garage this weekend to address a
couple of issues. My M3/4 has 58k on it and was a CPO car from a dealer in
Atlanta. I have seen the service records and all seems well, one owner etc...
However, for peace of mind could I get sort of a top 10 things to check while it is
there. I simply am not sure how thorough their CPO check was. Tune up items,
gearbox levels etc. you get the idea... Any help very much appreciated-

Michael
