Andrew I ran my GTV for 10 of the 14 years I had it sans insulation after
the factory stuff went west.  It makes a slight difference to noise but the
best thing here is to use a quality lightweight underfelt and push it right
up the firewall under the carpet.  I suffered no heat affected bonnet paint
but spent little time stuck in traffic which may be an issue with heat-soak.
