Rex: On the lamp sockets, there are ground tangs on the sides. Use a spray
electronics cleaner and a small wire brush, clean them off and also their
contact points on the lamp assembly itself. Carefully pry them outward to
exert a bit more pressure on the ground point. Then clean off the bulb
contacts inside the socket (pull the fuse first). BTW- the bulbs are good,
right? I found that with the constant opening/closing of the trunk lid, I had
to clean the bulb and ground contacts about every year.
May not be the solution, but it is worth a try since so many electrical
gremlins involve faulty grounds.
