I think a double inverted flare is a much safer way to go than a single flare
which is prone to cracking as it galls on the seat when tightened. 

But, you need to look at each seat to tell whether you need a bubble flare or a
double flare. On my 1967 GTV the brake booster is all bubble flare, the 4 way
brakeline union is all double-flare, the master cylinder is double flare on the
1/4" inlet and bubble flare on the outlet - all the calipers are double flare
etc etc. 

A bubble flare seat is visibly concave and a double inverted flare has a convex
